Your resume never dies

I haven't been actively job hunting in 7 years so when i got the following email recently I did a double take. Just further proof that your resume never dies, nor does it fade away.

Hi Chris I recently received your resume for a position our firm had been looking to fill. This position was filled, however your resume appears to be a good match for some of the employers who frequently use our recruiting services in Bridgeport. If you are still actively looking for a job in your field, click this link. If you are looking for a site specific to Bridgeport, try here. Remember that it is important to keep your online resume up to date. Best of luck, Jennifer M. HR Manager

I think it came from my marketing email to a blind box posting--Jennifer M is everywhere and nowhere at once!

Jennifer M...Show yourself! Spam, spam and more spam. Its a wonder any of of our emails get to their destination anymore.

I still think your resume never dies, but perhaps it does fade away.

On-line networking NEVER works! OFF-Line networking is only working tool!

Chris, Jennifer M sent my "resume" along to another recruiter, who just sent me a very familiar sounding email:
"Hi Amy
Another recruiter in field found your resume on the Internet and forwarded it to us. While we don't have any suitable jobs in Sacramento, we know that most people are looking for a job in their local area.

We understand the current job market can be tough and wondered what other alternatives you have considered for your search?

If you are looking for a job in Sacramento, try this site. It's a great site and will give your resume exposure to local employers that are hiring. If you're looking further afield, maybe try a partner career site in another city.

Regardless, good luck on the job search.

Sincerely,

Susan W.

Who says online marketing never works--I'm getting traction I never hoped for!??? And as a recruiter, I've opened up lots of orders responding to openings--in 12 years I've gotten lots of introductions this way---but never through a blind box I have to say.
