MyWorkster

Just discovered MyWorkster. Appears to be another networking - job search - online profile - super site. The web is littered with these guys all wanting a piece of the job search pie. According to their website;

There are four powerful elements that make MyWorkster.com so valuable to you:

• The Business Profile
• The Personal Profile
• The Power Resume
• The Video Resume

Another complementary feature is the “Endorsement” element of the site. After completing your profile, gaining endorsements should become a priority. Get yourself endorsed via recommendations from professors, friends, employers, guidance counselors, etc. Getting endorsed adds credibility and integrity to your credentials; so, the more the better!

The problem is that these features represent nothing new to the job seeker. Jobster, LinkedIn and Emurse are already handily filling the void for these types of services.

Agreed. As a student, I see little value in this site. Nothing too innovative to speak of here. I can see a lot of students signing up, and then forgetting they signed up and not returning. Next.

Actually, I looked at MyWorkster and it seems to be a lot different than the traditional job posting/networking sites as far as I can see.

It's more like a direct link for each university to reach the student and the alumni while offering targeted job postings.

I want to know what's going on in my university network.

I guess we'll see.
