Job Search Secret: Know Your Worth

Before you begin your job hunt, you should must research what you are worth from a salary perspective. It's important to know how to value yourself since many companies require you to list a salary requirement when applying for a job. Plus you need to know what kind of money to expect for the position you seek. There are two easy ways to find out what you are worth for the type of job you do.

1. Salary.com can provide you with a personal salary report based on where you live, your experience and education.

2. Read job listings for similar jobs to get an idea of the salary range that companies are paying. Most of them give some sort of salary in the ad; so if you can find 8-10 of them, you'll have a pretty good idea of the average pay for those types of jobs.
