Should you carry a business card if you are unemployed? Absolutely yes! I really like what Harry, the Management Recruiter has to say about business cards. He also found a great example of what your card should say.
I've said it before and Harry reiterates with this quote: "As a job seeker, you must remember that YOU are the product that you are marketing."

I remember hearing once that there is a huge difference in perception between a resume (I need a job... please, I'm begging you) and business card (I'm your peer - we're both professionals).
With a resume there is a superior/inferior relationship, while a business card establishes an equal relationship.
