Best Cover Letter

This is the last of the best of series. Today's entry is of the Best Cover Letter picked by Career Directors International from entries around the world. There's a few other 'best of' resume examples on their site.

The cover letter is written by Debra Mills of Scotland. Her cover letter is written for a freelance wedding planner. I like the subtle use of graphics and the 'get to the point' writing style.

See, I don't like this letter at all. The graphics look like cheesy Microsoft Word clip art, when a wedding planner should have the most elegant of styles, and the writing sounds like formulaic junk mail to me. The cover letter doesn't display any in-depth knowledge of the audience, or any personality of the writer. It turns me off instantly. But then again, I'm not in the Recruiting business, so maybe its just me.
