Job Search Secret: Email Deduction

If you can't find the e-mail address of a certain person at a company but you know their name, you can probably deduce what it is if you do a little investigating.

Let's say you're on the company Web site and you see an e-mail address for someone in sales that says ljohnson@corp.com. It's a good bet that all people at that company follow the same e-mail address rule which is the initial of their first name + last name @ corp.com. The other common format is firstname.lastname@corp.com.
